This time of year is hard for many people. Some may have no home. Some may have lost their job. Some may even be sick. No matter the circumstance they may be in, everyone just want a brief moment to smile. Our children may never know what we go through to make sure they have a decent Christmas or just a comfortable life. Some parents may have to explain why Christmas may not be like it was before. This is the time that you really have to look beyond the tree and search your hearts for the true meaning of Christmas. We have to show our kids that there are some things that are more important in life. That one thing that will last beyond December is the spirit of giving and helping others. Though many people help around the holiday's it is also important for children to see how blessed they are to have the things in life that we may take for granted.
I have a nine year old niece that truly has the heart to give. She started her own non-profit called blankets of faith out of what she seen while out shopping with her mom. She notice that it was cold out and people where living on the streets, so she wanted to get them blankets to keep warm. She told her mom just because they are homeless doesn't mean they should not be warm. So all year long she collect blankets and pass them out on Christmas Eve. She also feeds the homeless at various shelters She does this every year. This is something that we should teach all our children, because we are living in the self entitlement age they really do not appreciate the hard work it takes to provide. It is up to us to really show them that giving back provides much joy. Not only does she have a non-profit, she is a published author, she wrote a book with her mom expressing how her mom says she can be anything. This is something that we should always encourage, being true to who you are is the best way to success. book available on amazon. MOMMY SAYS I CAN BE ANYTHING. Merry Christmas and Happy Giving!!!
